This free, public event will provide essential information to help identify changes in memory, thinking and behavior that should not be ignored.
Alzheimer’s and other dementias cause changes in memory, thinking and behavior that interfere with daily life. Join us to learn about 10 common warning signs and what to watch for in yourself and others. This is a valuable opportunity to get informed and empowered.
Presenter Julie Hooley has worked in Assisted Living and Memory Care Facilities for 9 years and then in 2020 became a Care Navigator for the Alzheimer’s Association. During the hour session, Julie will talk about ways to take proactive steps to maintain brain health and ensure those affected by Alzheimer’s remain connected and engaged and how to advocate for their loved one.
This talk will cover how to distinguish between typical age-related changes from potential warning signs of Alzheimer’s, recognizing early symptoms of Alzheimer’s, approaching someone about memory concerns with sensitivity, the benefits and process of early detection and diagnosis, the ways the community can offer compassionate support, and Alzheimer’s Association resources.
