In less than two weeks, we will be having our annual spring climbing event in Yakima and we are getting excited at the prospect of climbing the walls at High Steppe Climbing Center, 1015 E Lincoln Ave Suite 101, Yakima, WA 98901 on Saturday, September 21 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm! This is a FREE event for anyone with special needs, physical or developmental, including visually challenged / blind, hearing impaired / deaf, burn survivors and wounded warriors of all ages!
We can accommodate anyone who weighs under 300-pounds, the weight limit of some of our equipment. Participants will not be forced to climb, but are welcome to just come and hang out with us in an all-inclusive environment.
This event is being sponsored by Rock Supremacy and Barnhart Crane & Rigging – THANK YOU! Their sponsorship helps to reduce the expenses that we incur when conducting these events around the western US. If you should conduct business with them or if you know them, please pass along the appreciation of all our participants for their support. (We are always looking for more sponsors to help cover our expenses!!!)
We have 3 courageous climbers on the roster! We still have room for 17 more courageous climbers, so please, help us spread the word. If you would like to be a part of this event, reply to this email and I will forward a registration packet to you.
COACHES: We do have room for a few more coaches / belayers. We can also use a couple of non-climbing volunteers to help with registration and other non-climbing related tasks. Volunteers will be eligible for a chance to win one of two climbing helmets donated by Petzl! The drawing will be held at the end of the year. You can support multiple events to increase your chances of winning!!!
FIREFIGHTERS AND OTHER FIRST RESPONDERS: All first responders are welcome
at our events. We hope that the first responders will consider this an invitation to join us. If you know any first responders, please invite them to join us!
Members of the local military, including the Guard or Reserve, are considered first responders, and are also invited to join us along with any Wounded Warriors
who may want to try climbing!
FACEBOOK: Please monitor “Courageous Kids Climbing” on Facebook. I will post any new information here.
If you have ANY questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
Thank you for your continued support and I look forward to seeing you all in a couple of weeks!
