The CWU Wellness Center will host a Movember “Shave the Date” party Monday, Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) East Patio. Men are invited to get a free shave, courtesy of CW Barbershop, to start a fresh moustache for the month of November a.k.a “Movember.” Participants are then encouraged to grow moustaches during the month as a way of bringing awareness and dialogue to men’s health issues, such as prostate and testicular cancer, and various mental health problems.
Movember events will continue at CWU throughout the month with a panel on mental health issues, “Seeking Help Shows Strength” Monday, Nov. 10 and “Man Cave Monday” Monday, Nov 17, which will offer attendees the chance to play the X-box video game “Madden 15” and participate in optional “Manning Up to Testicular Cancer” testing. Both of these events are from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in SURC 137 A&B.
All Movember events are free and open to the public, and all interested participants are encouraged to attend.
