Two evening open house sessions have been scheduled to gather citizen input on the ongoing work for an action plan to develop tourism infrastructure throughout Kittitas County. The plan is part of a County-led effort, in cooperation with the cities of Roslyn, Cle Elum, Ellensburg, and the Kittitas County Chamber of Commerce to create a long-term strategy for investing Lodging Tax revenues in capital improvements which support and grow the tourism industry. The Lodging Tax Advisory Committees are charged with directing the effort and Beckwith Consulting Group is assisting with the project.
The Open House events are scheduled for Wednesday, March 18th from 5 to 7 pm at the Kittitas County District Court, 700 East 1st Street, Cle Elum; and Thursday, March 19th from 5 to 7 pm at the Moose Lodge, 206 North Main Street, Ellensburg. The meetings will include a brief presentation on the status of the project and the work completed to date. Participants will be asked to provide information and recommendations on the overall strategy scope and objectives, results of the visitor/tourist outreach survey, results of several workshops already completed, preliminary project lists identified from a needs analysis and other efforts, and what should also be included in an action plan.
