April 9 public meeting kicks off comment period
The public will have an opportunity to review and comment on a draft Teanaway Community Forest Management Plan kicked off by an open house public meeting scheduled for 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015.
Departments of Natural Resources (DNR) and Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) staff will be on-hand to inform about the process and solicit feedback on both the overall management plan and the plan’s environmental review documentation. The meeting is being held at the Swauk Teanaway Grange, 1361 Ballard Road W., near Cle Elum.
Beginning last spring, the agencies have worked closely with a 20-member advisory committee, representing a broad spectrum of interests, to develop the plan. During this time, the agencies and committee held 15 public meetings, two public open houses, and received over 1,600 comments.
Additional public comments on the draft management plan and, per the State Environmental Policy Act (SEPA), comments related to the plan’s environmental review documents will be collected through April 21. To download the draft management plan and make comments, visit the DNR SEPA webpage at: https://www.dnr.wa.gov/ResearchScience/Topics/SEPANonProject/Pages/amp_sepa_nonpro_teanawayforest.aspx <https://www.dnr.wa.gov/ResearchScience/Topics/SEPANonProject/Pages/amp_sepa_nonpro_teanawayforest.aspx>.
