Ready for a one of a kind art show? As a part of Sex Central, CWU’s annual sexual health campaign, the Wellness Center will again host Sexhibition, an art show featuring student artists who will create artwork made of condoms as a way of bringing attention to sexual health. On Tuesday, Feb. 24 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the CWU Student Union and Recreation Center (SURC) Pit, visitors of the exhibit will be able to admire the artwork as well as vote for their favorite projects, two of which will be chosen as winners. Attendance is free and open to the public.
Students may create any kind of art out of condoms, be it a sculpture, a mixed media piece or a photograph, as long as the focus of the piece is on the condoms. In the past, one of the most crowd-pleasing projects was one by a student who blew up condoms like balloons to create the house from the Disney and Pixar film “Up.”
By presenting condoms in a fun and open atmosphere, the Wellness Center hopes to alleviate the embarrassment that comes with talking about sexual health and protection, as well open the discussion of sexual health.
