‘Slavery by Another Name’ Film and Discussion Free to the Public

6:30 p.m. “Slavery by Another Name” film will be shown with discussion following facilitated by Professor Mark Auslander Director of the Museum of Culture & Environment.”Slavery by Another Name” is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book by Douglas Blackmon. It tells the stories of men charged with crimes like vagrancy often guilty of nothing who were bought sold abused and subjected to appalling working conditions as unpaid convict labor.~Free Pizza and Pop~This is part of the “Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle” grant made possible by the National Endowment for the Humanities as part of its Bridging Cultures initiative in partnership with the gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
