Washington’s beef community will rally around the victims of the devastating forest fires in Kittitas County tonight at 6:30 p.m. prior to the Ellensburg Community Briefing at the Student Union and Recreation Center Ballroom at Central Washington University in Ellensburg. Cattle ranchers from Kittitas and neighboring counties will be serving grilled beef tri-tip sandwiches to their neighbors in need. “Feeding people is what we do” explains Sam Kayser a cattle rancher and president of the Kittitas County Cattlemen’s Association. “These are our neighbors and our friends it is just a little something that our beef community can do support them and and share our bounty.” Generous donations of beef tri-tip roasts from AB Foods based in Toppenish and Tyson Beef based in Wallula along with salads and beverages should be a welcomed comfort for those that have been displaced or lost their homes.
