In only its second year, the interactive Rocky Horror Picture Show is coming back to CWU to kick off Halloween weekend. Put on by Campus Activities, this Wildcat rendition of the sci-fi classic was inspired by student Libby Akin last year, and it was immediately a hit. According to Tray Mayfield, they were only expecting 100 guests last year, and were pumped when they received 600. This year, they’ve prepared by setting up the SURC Ballroom to hold max capacity, “We’re expecting a full house, that’s what we hope.”
The first 500 guests will receive a goody bag, full of little things that they can use to interact with the actors during the show. This performance is completely different than any other play or musical you would see in a theatre. Not a movie, and not just a play, this production is highly audience oriented, providing multiple opportunities for interactions with the characters. Student actors and actresses gather together to become a shadow cast for the movie, and they also help guide the audience along with using their props. If you’re looking for a way to get in the Halloween spirit, this is the way to do it. Grab your costume and join us at this spooky soirée!
*Please note, this production is intended for mature audiences!*
