The 126th annual convention of the Washington State Grange will be held at the Kittitas Valley Event Center and Fairgrounds in Ellensburg, Washington June 24 – 27, 2015. Delegates representing Granges from throughout the state will meet at the Teanaway Hall to consider resolutions submitted by Grangers for inclusion in the Grange Legislative Handbook.
In addition to making policy, the convention is an opportunity to show off the talents of Grangers who submit entries in areas such as Photography, Needlework, Fine Art and Woodworking. After these entries are judged, they will be available to view on Thursday afternoon in the Umtanum Room. The State Grange Talent Show will feature 16 excellent acts from across the state. The show will be Friday at 7 pm on the Central Washington University Campus in the ballroom of the Student Union Rec Center.
Secretary of State Kim Wyman will address the delegates following the lunch break on Friday. Secretary Wyman is a member of the South Union Grange in Thurston County.
If you would like to know more about the Grange organization, you are invited to come by the Event Center during Convention. The Washington State Grange was formed in 1889, the same year Washington became a state, and this is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about this historic agricultural and grassroots organization.
