The work in this exhibition explores how Western and classical narratives have shaped ideas of power\, labor\, gender\, and belonging\, reimagining these inherited stories through care\, embodiment\, and material practice.\n\nDaphne Sweet’s paintings draw from classical art history and personal allegory\, reworking familiar motifs through bold color\, ornament\, and layered symbolism. By reclaiming the female figure from the historical male gaze\, her work transforms classical imagery into a visual language of agency\, presence\, and abundance.\n\nCharlie-Anne Hopkins approaches the Western landscape through lived experience with horsemanship\, land stewardship\, and material practice.
