The nation of Egypt identified so heavily with the dark\, fertile soil of the Nile Delta\, that kmt also\, in the ancient Egyptian context\, implies a contrast to the empire’s surrounding desert\, beyond the two literal meanings. Full of high strangeness\, sand demons and demigods\, this wasteland was called ‘deshret’\, or…RED LAND.”\n\nMargot Massey is a figurative artist based in Eastern Washington. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art at Central Washington University.
