DESCRIPTION:Get ready for some fun and friendly competition at the upcoming UKC Bocce Tournament\, Saturday\, August 2nd at South Cle Elum’s Firemen’s Park!  Whether you’re a seasoned bocce player or a newbie\, everyone is welcome to participate. Gather your friends\, form a team   of 2\, and come out for a day of fun\, laughter\, and friendly competition. \nThis is a collaboration of the Cle Elum Lodge of the Order of Sons and Daughters of Italy in America and the Roslyn Ronald Cle Elum Heritage Club.  Come support two great local organizations and enjoy this long standing\, local tradition! \nRegistration begins at 8:30am – play begins at 9am \nSpectators are welcome and there is no admission\nPlayers in the tournament are encouraged to pre-register

DESCRIPTION:The Washington State Discover Pass Program has designated 12 Discover Pass free days for 2025. On these days\, visitors will not need Discover Pass to park a vehicle at a Washington state park or on lands managed by the Washington State Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) \nNew this year is a free day celebrating Smokey Bear’s birthday. \n“For decades Smokey Bear has emphasized the importance of fire safety to our communities with his central message: Only You Can Prevent Wildfires\,” Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz said. “As folks are enjoying Washington’s public lands on Discover Pass free days next year\, and especially on Smokey’s birthday\, I hope that they’ll keep his mission in mind and recreate responsibly.” \nThe 2025 Discover Pass free days are: \nWed.\, Jan. 1 – New Year’s Day and First Day Hikes \nMon.\, Jan. 20 – Martin Luther King Junior Day \nSun.\, March 9 – Billy Frank Junior’s Birthday \nWed.\, March 19 – State Parks’ 111th Birthday \nTues.\, April 22 – Earth Day \nSat.\, June 7 and Sun.\, June 8 – Free Fishing Weekend \nThurs.\, June 19 – Juneteenth \nSat.\, Aug. 9 – Smokey Bear’s Birthday \nSat.\, Sept. 27 – National Public Lands Day \nFri.\, Oct. 10 – World Mental Health Day \nMon.\, Nov. 11 – Veterans Day
