ELLENSBURG – On Tuesday, December 10, at 7:00 p.m., there will be a talk on “The Environment and Modern Agriculture” at the First Methodist Church located on 210 North Ruby Street, in Ellensburg.

The talk will explore how raising farmed animals and growing related crops affect ecosystems and our health. Topics will include the pollution of soil, water, and air, the use of hormones and antibiotics, soil erosion, deforestation, global warming, and the latest food science technologies. A question and answer period will follow the talk.

The speaker will be Anna Gullickson of the Educated Choices Program. Ms. Gullickson’s experiences include flying floatplanes, ski patrolling, and working to save the endangered southern resident killer whales. She now spends her winter months doing educational presentations for high school and university students on how our food choices affect our health, the environment, and animals.
