The CWU Fashion Show Production Class is proud to present its 28th annual fashion show, Avenues, on Saturday, June 1st. The event will take place at the Milo Smith Tower Theatre in McConnell Hall on the CWU campus, featuring a matinee showing at 3pm with doors opening at 2pm, and an evening showing at 7pm with doors opening at 6pm. This year’s show promises to be an immersive experience, showcasing work by students from across the state, from tri-cities, to Spokane, Vancouver, Tacoma, and beyond.

Avenues pushes the boundaries of fashion with seven unique student designer collections. From conceptualization to completion, these designers craft apparel lines that reflect their inspiration and theme. Their responsibilities include choosing models, choreography, selecting music, and styling the overall look.

The show’s production is a hands-on high impact learning experience for students in the Fashion Show Production class. Students gain valuable skills such as negotiation, delegation, critical thinking, teamwork, and communication, vital for future careers in the apparel industry. Students collaborate with local businesses, technicians, and clubs to create a memorable event, from publicity and fundraising to stage design and music.

Attendees can also participate in the silent auction, offering a variety of items donated by the community, with proceeds supporting the Apparel, Textiles, and Merchandising program and funding next year’s fashion show, which is a self-support event.
