One of the highest-quality wetlands in the Greater Seattle Area, Hazel Wolf is a wonderland of ponds, marshes and forests. Because it protects both woodlands and wetlands, it boasts a huge variety of plants (more than 150 species), plus fascinating animals ranging from red-winged blackbirds to rough-skinned newts.
We’ll walk the roughly 2 miles of flat trails, stopping often to observe nature and share “hidden stories” of the preserve’s residents. Which birds migrate here all the way from Central America every year? Which birds nest high up in tree cavities but find their food by diving into the pond? Have you ever seen a beaver dam THAT big?!? And who the heck WAS Hazel Wolf, anyway? Join us and find out.
Open to the public, all ages welcome, Pre-Registration required
