Since March we’ve been working diligently with public health officials, 4-H/FFA representatives, the Livestock and Sale Committees and Board of County Commissioners to keep the fair on track, despite all the obstacles thrown our way. We have been working on a safe modified in-person livestock show and a Drive-Up Food Fair, but sadly the Governor’s new restrictions for groups of ten or less will not allow us to continue forward. It is with great sadness we report there will be no in-person Kittitas County Fair for 2020, however; we are working on some virtual opportunities with details to come.

We know this has a big impact on hundreds of businesses and thousands of people. The Fair is a platform for small businesses and entrepreneurs, service groups, school groups, youth, artists, entertainers, agriculturists, and many, many more. The weekend is a significant source of both memories and revenue for so many.

Yesterday’s Statewide announcement from the Governor’s office, with changes to phase 3 directly impacted our County and has re-directed our options for fair. We are, however, continuing to adjust and work to provide opportunities to our community. The Fair Board is feeling all the same things you are, sad, frustrated, disappointed and heartbroken. We know this is not ideal or what any of us wanted, but we are glad to be working together and still be providing an opportunity. While we cannot control the Government mandates, we can control how we respond and learn from the situation. This is a time where we can encompass the 4-H and FFA mission by learning new ways of communicating, new ways to problem solve and helping to create strong leaders.

To our sponsors, vendors and volunteers, we appreciate you and your continued dedication to the Fair.

To our exhibitors, we know you have worked hard on your projects and we wish we could have seen them in person. There is a virtual option in the works though, so stay tuned.

To the 4H and FFA market livestock members of our community, we are working on a virtual show and sale with more details to come.

To the livestock sale supporters, there will be an online sale. Information on how to register will be coming out soon.

To the patrons, we will miss all your smiling faces, screams from the rides, sticky fingers from the cotton candy and laughter from the grounds.

To all of you, we appreciate your patience and support as we work through this challenging process. Please continue to check the Fair Facebook and website for updated information.
