Kittitas County, WA – 06/01/2018 – Immediate Closure of Mohar Road (as of 10:00 a.m. this morning).A rapidly moving landslide is forcing the immediate closure of Mohar Road at Milepost 1.80 to Milepost 2.01 (intersection of Mohar Road and Westside Road). Advanced closure notice is posted at Milepost 0.95 (intersection of Mohar Road and Upper Peoh Point Road). Numerous trees are causing a dangerous situation threatening to fall back into the roadway. Kittitas County Department of Public Works anticipates the road being closed initially for a six to eight week period, pending a geotechnical evaluation. Utility companies are being noticed of the potential for service loss and/or interruption.
